I would not bet on him putting the team in Charlotte unless MLB suggests it. I agree with urban that it is ridiculous that Charlotte is not pursuing MLB in the upcoming expansion. Call MLB and show interest and let MLB find a billionaire interested.

When one examines the NFL numbers and our being number #2 in the country for attendance for soccer, it only makes sense that we get MLB.

I made a mistake. The CSA population for Orlando in 2028 was just over 4 million. I got my figure from the Information Almanac which is normally dependable. However, the true Orlando approximate CSA population is around 5 million, not the 10 million I misstated. ON the bright side, that puts behind us in a logical place to start a new professional baseball team.

I made another mistake. I meant 2018, not 2028. I need new glasses.

According to the US Census Bureau, in 2022 the Orlando CS A had a population of 4.4 million. But MLB does kot plan to put another team in Florida. What makes Charlotte unique from Portland? NC is the most populous state without MLB. MLB would love to have a team in NC. Plus a team in NC would fill the gap between DC and ATL which is 640 miles. I wish I could comfortably say that Dundon will put the team here. But he has said that he prefers Raleigh. It is insane that Charlotte is the only MSA over 2 million not pursuing MLB.

We have proven that Carlotte is a high-volume professional sports city. Look at the skeptics that doubted that soccer was a good bet. We have incredible attendance (2nd only to Atlanta).

We just don't have a locally based potential owner pursuing it. I think the city would get behind a potential owner, but that person hasn't emerged yet.
