My wife and I have had Tracfones for 20+ years. They cost about $8/month per phone and use Verizon air space. We have have very spotty cell signals at our house, so we don't use them at home. Others with Verizon service of any kind have the same problem. Never had an issue when we were on the road.

Again, pay-as-you-go Tracfone works for me. But I must say, I'm finding it increasingly difficult to make others understand that I don't have unlimited talk and text (and don't want it). They WILL insist on calling for no reason (I keep the phone turned off most of the time) and complaining afterwards that I'm not immediately responsive and/or sending looooooong texts that really aren't necessary, which eat up my resources. I'm afraid unlimited talk and text has conditioned the populus to talk and text in an unlimited, indiscriminate fashion.

That's an old plan you are on. For a few dollars more you could have unlimited talk and text.

Maybe I don't want unlimited talk and text. Maybe I don't think it's good for people and society, as I stated above.

Hoping that someone can help - I have a problem w/my hand, I want a small phone that will fit in my purse, VERY limited use (want it for an emergency call on the road, etc.l) - Tracfone is NO help, they have no record of my number after I was told they would replace the large phone they sent w/a smaller one (and took away the 2500 mins. I had paid for) - I just want something for emergencies and minimal cost per month. Not having much luck searching - can anyone help please? TIA

If you just need something for emergencies any G4 or newer phone will work. You don't even need a service plan. Just dial 911 and you will be connected.

Sounds like a $20 flip phone is what you are looking for. TracFone has them (if you are looking to stay with them).

Yes. However, not being able to call anyone other than 911 is not what I would want in an emergency. Especially when prepaid plans are available for $5/month.

I have prepaid service with T-Mobile for a flat fee of 15/month. I have unlimited talk and text and a fair amount of data.

Yep.

Tello has a plan that = unlimited texts/100 minutes of talk/@and no data for $5 per month.

U.S. Mobile has a plan that is $72 per year ($6 per month) for unlimited talk/unlimited text/and 1 GB of data per month.
