You are right. It is brutal at first. I lost my sweet Opal in August 2023 and she had CKD. Her loss was especially hard for me. We had a routine every day. When I had to cancel her sub-Q liquids and renal diet food orders, it hit me like a ton of bricks.

In October 2023, I adopted another cat that needed a home. It has helped me deal with the grief, but Opal will always be in my thoughts.
