Last night as I tried to park I scraped my 2015 Honda Odyssey against the steel front bumper of an old Excursion that was parked on the street. It was midnight and someone was tailgating me with bright light and I was distracted and tried to get out of the way quickly. That was a dumb mistake and my first accident in 20 years. There was very minimal damage on the bumper of the Excursion but I ruined two right doors and the panel behind the sliding door. The door is still sliding.

What do you think the repair cost will be? My car has 50k miles and the value is around $15-$16k. I have Geico insurance.

I think the bumper and the panel covering the front wheel can be polished and repainted. However, the right front door and right sliding door and the panel covering the back wheel will need to be replaced.

I will contact insurance tomorrow. I left a note on for the Excursion owner but this person has not been in the car for a whole day.

Ouch
I have done things to my vehicles in the past that make me cringe today because I wasn’t in a hurry or not paying attention
I hope things go well for you with this repair...

Wow, that's half the value of the car. Thank you.

I am really mad at myself. I know insurance will pay for most of the repair but it is such a waste.

Friend that is what insurance is for. Use it and if they try to raise your rate drop them and find a company with "first accident forgiveness "

The owner of the Excursion doesn't want repair because he thinks his truck is too old and he is not bothered by the dented bumper.

I will bow to your "adjuster" experience but that seems high 4500-5500 would be my guess

The Geico approved body shop estimated $4,300. But he said this number may change as they disassemble the damage parts.

I ballpark high because it makes people happy when their actual cost is lower.
