I know increases to premiums have been discussed recently in the poll but I thought it'd be valuable to get a thread going of recommended companies or brokers to help some of us in the market for a new policy. Anyone you can recommend that doesn't charge both arms and both legs?

We use Space Coast Insurance Agency and they shop a variety of carriers for us.

I use Highmark Insurance in Melbourne. They shop around too. It seems fewer and fewer carriers are taking policies these days. Often you get stuck with Citizens which now has high rates that can go up at any time post storm.
Newer roof, impact rated windows and doors or window and door protection, all will help your Wind Mit score and lower yor rates.
Rats are also a bit higher this time of year for a new policy as we are in hurricane season until November.

Thanks for the replies. Would anyone know which insurance companies don't require a 4-pt for homes less than 30 years old?
