Join a Rally to Organize Intentional Communities focused on: strengthening local relationships, building solidarity, bolstering farming, etc
Local legend Chris Berry will begin the event with a musical synchronization practice for everyone to "get on the same page"
Local councilmembers are invited to speak and engage with the community. We are expecting
Councilwoman Ashley L. Kierkiewicz who represents Puna.
Local Hawaiian leaders are encourage to speak and ask for what they need from the community. We are expecting Uncle Kaliko. We encourage other kūpunas and local leader to join and bring ALOHA so we can create a more resilient and sovereign local community.
The event is titled “Civic Action for Intentional Communities” and will be focused on:
Strengthening the relationship between intentional communities and the local government
Building solidarity with Hawaiian people and forming a panel of kanaka to advise intentional communities
Bolstering farming and food sovereignty among intentional communities
Supporting healing arts offerings by intentional communities
We will be dynamically covering all 4 points and creating working circles that can continue meeting beyond this rally.
The event is Thursday, February 23 on the Seaview Lawn in Pahoa, Big Island, Hawaii.
