^^^^Looking forward to summer league where we see Wemba in action. Whomever he plays for.
Would he play? Its a risk of injury. Its like playing with a bunch of kids with his talent level compared to the average summer league guy that has a shot of the nba bench.
He has to play eventually and he can get hurt anytime. Whomever picks him up can go the route the Magic took with Banchero. Play him at least one game. If it seems like "he gets it" then no point playing him any more summer league. Just team practice, learning offensive and defensive schemes, etc.

See what happened to chet holmgren, and danilo gallinari? Im sure the Celtics need him right now. There is pre season that victor can play in. The summer league competition is so low that it would not benefit victor in adjusting to the nba. Preseason has 8 games. I wouldn't want to risk a injury to someone with so much hype in the history of the nba.

That was my thought. Chet played in some meaningless exhibition game and was lost for the season. Sure injuries can happen anytime. But why tempt fate when its not necessary.

The big problem is the summer league guys are going 110% to hopefully get a 10 day contract, or a chance to make it to the pre-season squad. One wrong dive from someone for a loose ball could mean a career altering injury for victor. There is nothing to prove. He is not getting any better playing with low level competition.
Its like how pre draft workouts, the top 10 players only get measured, and not risk injury, while all the others are hopefully trying to improve their draft position and play hard.

I am sure what happened to Chet is in the mind of Wemba and his people. And you are right. The summer league is for guys trying to make a team.
100% no Summer League. In fact, don't be surprised if Wemba comes out of the gate with strict minute and GP limitations in his first season. There is zero reason to rush him to do anything right now. His first few years in the league should be about staying healthy, getting stronger, learning to play at that speed and against the world's best athletes.
Follow the Embiid plan, more or less.......it worked.
