Well, it wouldn't really make much sense to fire the manager if that wouldn't make the team better would it?

I am not sure anymore exactly what would turn things around. I guess they thought since expectations were so high, that they could cake-walk their way through the season. Maybe they need an attitude adjustment? Is there a team cancer in the clubhouse that none of us know about?

The Texas Rangers had a 3 - 10 stretch last season between August 28th and September 8th. They went to the WS.

The San Francisco Giants had a 4 - 13 stretch last season between June 15th and July 4th. They won the WS.

**** like this happens in baseball

wake me up on Memorial day

we'll be a third of the way through ther season then, and then will know if it's just a bad start or a bad team.

I just refuse to panic about my team 2 weeks into a 6 month season.

"We won a game yesterday. If we win one today, that's two in a row. We win one tomorrow, that's called a winning streak. It has happened before."

Team win-loss percentage in Matsuzaka's starts:
2007 .531
2008 .793
2009 .417
2010 .600
2011 0 - 2
CAREER: .600

If the Red Sox had 5 Matsuzaka's in their starting rotation, and if they continued to win games at the same rate they have been winning his starts they would be a (.600*162) 97 win team.

Great start for Dice-K today. The offense needed a good output as well even if Crawford only got one hit.

Looks like Lowrie is finally back to health. He is on a tear!
