We just moved here from out of state. I have one teen in high school, the other in middle school. We chose Lakeside for a couple of reasons. Everyone we talked to in the area: realtors, friends of family who grew up in the area, even my employer during my interview all talked about Lakeside like it was an amazing school. I took a job in Aiken, SC so it’s closest for me in terms of driving to work. We also liked the proximity to all the stores and I-20.

As far as the schools in particular, my kids have only been in school two weeks so I’m not much help there. My sophomore only has two complaints as of now and they really have nothing to do with the education.
1. She said sophomores weren’t assigned lockers so she has to carry around her backpack all day. Although she overheard someone say they could purchase a locker for $5.
2. The school bus is so crowded that she has to stand or kneel on the floor. So I guess I will be taking her to school from now on. And the drop off process takes about 15-20 minutes but I hear that’s the same for most schools in the area.

Good luck, wish I could be more help.
