I don't consider it an East Coast city because it is neither on the coast or really that far east(Detroit is actually farther east). Other than Jacksonville and Miami, the south really doesn't have any large east coast cities. When I think EC I think DC/NYC/Boston as well as Baltimore and Philly. All those cities are either directly on the coast or have easy water access to it. Calling Atlanta an EC city is absurd as calling Dallas a Gulf Coast city. It's a southern or southeastern city but nowhere near a coastal city.

If oklahoma and kansas are mid-WEST, why would texas be South if it's right under oklahoma? Texas is the definition of West and Western. Cowboys are not Southern characters.

I've lived in the NE, the South and now in the Midwest. I've never heard anyone refer to Atlanta as an East Coast city. In every region I've lived in, people say it's Southern.

If you've ever been to the Southeast and to Houston, you wouldn't make such a blanket statement.

Kansas is the Midwest. Oklahoma and Texas are the South. There are and were cowboys in the South.

While Atlanta is close to the western extent of the eastern time zone in the southern United States (as noted, this is the farthest east the western boundary of the eastern time zone extends throughout North America), part of the reason why New York City gets lighter sooner at certain times of the year, not only relates to their location farther east, but it also relates to the curvature of the Earth and the Earth being angled at 23.5 degrees while it is rotating.
No, not all of Ontario. Canada Time Zone

This is a nice image of north American time zones: ImageAbility - Just in Time Marketing - North America Time Zone Clock

I disagree, the "gateway arch" in st. Louis is the "gateway to the West"

Also, when you see stores that cator to Cowboy type cloting like the one in Marietta, they are called "western" wear, never called "southern wear".

That type of "western" refers to the Western Frontier, not the Western US. Again, there were southern cowboys. This is fact.

The states of Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma are part of the Western Frontier, but are still the South. Cities like Dallas and Houston are far more like Atlanta than Phoenix and Denver.

Texas is Texas. Oklahoma is the ditch between Texas and the Midwest.
