My mid-20s working child needs to relocate to the AA/Saline area. As a concerned parent, of course I am trying to help find a safe neighborhood in which he can purchase a condo. Living in north suburban Detroit I know there are 'iffy' areas of every city, I'm just not familiar with the west side. We visited Dexter and Chelsea and didn't find anything that met his needs. A nice quiet safe complex would be perfect (he's done with the college scene). Here are the prospects so far:
1. Downtown Saline
2. S of Ellsworth between State and Stone School Rds
3. S of US12 between Platt and US23.

Any suggestions from those familiar with the area? Condo complexes/areas to avoid or recommend?
Thanks so much.

What is your price range?
What is the general location of work? Does commuting distance matter? Does the bus system matter?
What needs does he have that were lacking in Dexter and Chelsea?

We recently bought a condo in the Oak Valley/Ann Arbor-Saline area and enjoy the location. Neighborhoods all seem safe and it's convenient for shopping, restaurants, and getting to downtown Ann Arbor and I-94. Lived on the northside of Saline for many years (mostly for the schools) and enjoyed the small downtown, but it's nice to be closer to downtown Ann Arbor and Meijer/Target for shopping.
