My doctor told me I'd probably be hungry and to enjoy whatever I want that evening for dinner. I usually get a cheeseburger with sauteed mushrooms and onions.
I had one recently... and they just said 'resume you normal diet'. I'm almost certain 10 years ago the doc called for 'bland diet' the first few several days.
