David Shemano of Brooklyn, who controls West Mall Office Center LLC, and is the owner of 4 Central Ave. in Albany, received tax exemptions Thursday from the city Industrial Development Agency.

The property, also known as the Mayfair building, was built in 1872.

Coming to the development....

Delta Engineers to open new office in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Delta Engineers, Architects and Land Surveyors, DPC announced that it plans to open a new office at Mohawk Harbor in Schenectady.

Mohawk Harbor is a 60-acre master planned community that integrates “luxury living,” high-tech offices, hotels, restaurants, and retail along one mile of the Mohawk River.

Delta, headquartered in Endwell in Broome County, plans to relocate eight jobs to the new office, the firm said in a news release. It also intends to hire another 10 to 12 employees for the office during the next few years.

“Our company’s goal is to make a difference in the communities we serve. Mohawk Harbor is the ideal location for us to serve our clients in Eastern New York State and New England,” Anthony Paniccia, president & CEO of Delta, said in the release. “We are excited about becoming part of this exciting waterfront development, and we appreciate the efforts of both the Metroplex Development Authority and the Galesi Group for working with us on our expansion to Schenectady.” The Galesi Group is a Schenectady–based real-estate firm.

Founded in 1976, Delta has 136 full-time employees providing architectural, engineering, environmental, and survey and mapping services to clients throughout the U.S.

Delta also operates offices in Vernon; Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania; and in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
