First of all I'm saddened because I love Einstein Bros Bagels. I was compelled to write this review because I was in the restaurant this morning and was astonished by all the food on the floor in the prep area. The serving counter was dirty and the dining tables were dirty. With the seven employees in sight I would think things could be managed a little better. I am a proponent for placing letter grades like many other states have. The reports listed above aren't displayed and you have to ask to see them. If you get to see them you have to decipher what you're reading. Obviously, most people do not want to spend this amount of time reviewing inspections. Letter grades would make life for consumers much easier. However, after reading the inspections above and seeing the same violations repeated over and over then what's the point of the inspections at all?
For instance: Basic - Cutting board has cut marks and is no longer cleanable. **Warning** is listed 3 or 4 times on different inspections. And Critical. Ready-to-eat, potentially hazardous food prepared on site and held more than 24 hours with not properly date marked.... is listed over and over. The last inspection reflected is almost a year old. I'm just not sure how these inspections protect consumers if warnings are given but there's no follow-up or consequences. What's the incentive to operate correctly? I'm going to check the box below recommending Einstein Bros Bagels in hopes they clean up their act.
