NO UNUSUAL VIBRATIONS OR CONTROL ROUGHNESS EXPERIENCED. AFTER LANDING NO APPARENT DMG TO THE MAIN ROTOR WAS FOUND, HOWVER THERE WAS S VISUAL MARK OF IMPACT WITH THE BIRDS WING. A/C DOWN FOR FURTHER INSPN.

Remarks: DURING PLANNED TOUCH AND GO APRCH. LRG FLOCK OF WHITE BIRDS LIFTED FROM GROUND JUST W OF APRCH END OF KTIX, RWY 18 AND FLEW INTO OUR FLT PATH. INITIATED A GO AROUND AND FLEW THROUGH THE FLOCK. UNSURE IF WE HIT ANYTHING AS WE FLEW AWAY FROM THEM BUT NOTIFIED THE TOWER OF POSSIBLE BIRDSTRIKE. ASSESSED THE A/C CONDITION ON DOWNWIND AND DID NOT SEE ANY EVIDENCE OF A BIRDSTRIKE. TOWER DID NOT HAVE AN IMMEDIATE METHOD OF CHECKING THE RWY SO WE PERFORMED A LOW APRCH AND OBSERVED A WHITE BIRD CARCASS ON THE RWY APPROX 200 FEET BEYOND THE NUMBERS JUST LT OF C/L. AS A PRECAUTION WE THEN FLEW TO A FULL STOP LANDING ON RWY 27. NO EVID OF BIRDSTRIKE FOUND ON POSTFLT INSPN. REPORTED THE POSSIBLE STRIKE TO THE OWNER. A/C INSPECTED AND RETURNED TO SERVICE.

Remarks: FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR WITH 2 STUDENT PILOTS, SAW AN ANIMAL DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE A/C ON THE CENTERLINE AND GRABBED THE FLIGHT CONTROLS IN AN EFFORT TO AVOID THE ANIMAL. HE HEARD A BANG AS THE A/C PASSED OVER THE DEER. FLT INSTRUCTOR NOTICED THE LEFT RUDDER PEDAL WAS LOOSER THAN NORMAL AND NO BRAKE PRESSURE WAS IN THE LEFT TOE BRAKE. AFTER A FEW LOW PASSES AND CONFIRMATION FROM THE CONTROL TWR THAT THE LEFT LDG GEAR WAS NOT IN THE NORMAL POSITION THE INSTRUCTOR DECIDED TO LAND.(ONE REPORT SAID THEY CIRCLED FOR 1 1/2 HRS TO BURN FUEL BEFORE LANDING). UPON LDG, THE A/C TILTED TO ITS SIDE, THE CRIPPLED WHEEL SKIDDING UNDERNEATH AND THE LEFT WING SCRAPED FOR A BIT. EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT WAS STANDING BY. NTSB REPORTED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO LEFT WING SPAR.
