Description: It would be understandable if this Greek Revival mansion were so named simply because it’s white and undeniably imposing. But it’s actually the James P. White House, and takes its title from the man who built it more than a century and a half ago. A Belfast landmark that everyone who passes by wonders at, it’s just as impressive on the inside, with marble fireplaces and ornate molding, brocades and canopies. Rooms have private baths and phones. In a town of architectural distinction this place is distinct.
