Yes it is misleading, but the cloudy nature of our weather in the October to March time period is a fact that people contemplating a move here should consider. I spent 1999 to 2003 living in NJ, in the metro NYC area, and quickly became accustomed to the sunnier weather (about 40% fewer overcast days durign the winter than in Syracuse.) It was not until I returned here that I realized how the overcast skies can affect mood for some of us (more so for me, now in my 50's, than it was at a younger.) My solution during that time of the year is to get out of town once each month for a few days and take a vacation someplace sunny as well. So far it's working but that's an option not available to many people.
If I'm still living here when I retire, then chances are I'll spend my winters elsewhere - not necessarily someplace warm, but just a place where the sun is visible more often.
