If we are talking about the villages, Liverpool. I will say that North Syracuse’s Main Street is walkable with restaurants, ice cream shops, a pharmacy and plaza you can walk to.
As an area/school district boundary areas, they are very similar in population and demographics, though the Liverpool is a little bit more culturally diverse in terms of some groups. Pretty much 2 big northern suburban areas with about 115,000 between them.
Both have plenty of shopping, with Routes 31 and 57 in the Liverpool area/SD and pretty much north and south of the village on Route 11/Brewerton Road in the North Syracuse(including Cicero and Mattydale) area/SD.
Both have some industry, with the Liverpool area having a little more(Amazon, Raymour & Flanigan HQ’s, Lockheed Martin, JMA Wireless, etc. versus Eaton Crouse Hinds, Clinton’s Ditch, SRC, etc.).
For investment, I’d say to look in the villages and older parts of those areas like maybe parts of Pitcher Hill, which is split between the two SD’s, Galeville and Mattydale. Budget, availability and community feel may play a part in this.

thanks for your thoughts.
These are definitely "high value" areas, especially Liverpool with the lower crime.

I don’t know about calling them “high value” areas in the sense of skewing towards high income and both are low crime, but they are more straight/solidly middle class areas with some economic diversity ranging generally from working/lower middle class up to upper middle class(some even lower income or affluent as well).
Also, keep in mind that the village of Liverpool is only 1 square mile and has 2600 people or so, while the village of North Syracuse has about 6800 people in just under 2 square miles. So, looking at the villages is looking at a small portion of both areas.
I forgot to mention that the village of North Syracuse has a pretty good park system with multiple parks with a couple of Basketball courts(Heritage and Centreville Parks), Baseball fields, a pool, sledding(Centreville), Disc Golf, Softball/Little League fields, a small nature preserve, Tennis Courts, a Community Center with classes, etc.: https://northsyracuseny.org/departme...ion/our-parks/ So, it has quite a bit of recreational opportunity in a small area.
Liverpool does have the big Onondaga Lake Park, Johnson Park(summer concerts) and green space at Liverpool Elementary/Middle School. So, it also has access to recreational activities.
Also, both are the biggest suburban school districts in the area, with North Syracuse being the biggest and Liverpool second.
