I'd like to see the Route 5 or 695 in Camillus be extended to Auburn. I actually saw the plan for it from about 50 years ago at my college map collection.
The benefits to Auburn and Skaneateles would really open up to for those communities if it happened. It could help to ease the possible increase in housing prices in the north and east suburban areas if the western suburbs had better access to the job growth coming to the area.

The issue would be with the village of Elbridge having to see some form widening of Route 5, unless you can build a 4 lane bypass around the village and address the current properties along Route 5 in rural parts of Camillus and Elbridge. Route 321 connects Route 5 to Skaneateles and you can also take Route 175 to Skaneateles from Syracuse and that route along with Route 20 into the village and in to Auburn.
I mean the highway expansion that would go around the villages with exits and on ramps.
