Looking for a safe hotel, preferably with secured parking. Doesn't need to be in Downtown either although not opposed to staying there. Any ideas?

Marco Polo Motel (Wallingford)? College Inn (U District)? Ballard Inn? Hotel Nexus (Northgate)? Mediterranean Inn (Lower Queen Anne)? Ace Hotel (Bellown)?

I'm open - no limit but of course more affordable is always better but don't want to compromise safety.

The Courtyard by Marriott Downtown-Lake Union is a best-buy with on-site secured parking.

I usually stay at Staybridge Suites Fremont (they also have a downtown location). Just make sure to ask for a "quiet room," or they'll stick you on the noisy road-facing side.

Whatever you pick, just be aware that in downtown and Belltown, Third Avenue is not the best avenue. Even going one block away from Third improves the safety and attitude of the street a lot. Also in downtown I wouldn't necessarily advise staying south of Spring (e.g., the Renaissance on 6th, or Courtyard Marriot 2nd/Cherry). Don't get me wrong, this is a generally okay part of town but there is definitely more crime here than somewhere like the Sheraton (6th/Pike) or the Westin (5th/Stewart).

We stayed at the Four Seasons downtown about 6 years ago. Wasn’t cheap, but room was awesome with view of the sound. Walked everywhere from there.

One of our favorites is Mediterranean Inn. Reasonable (by Seattle standards), every room has a fridge and microwave, there is a Safeway across the street and a Dicks Burgers. It is walkable to Seattle Center (Space Needle) and you can hop on the monorail there to get to Westlake and Pike areas.

I have stayed there numerous times and have always felt very safe. There is parking under the hotel for a fee.
