114 (Mount Hope Bridge) and 138 (Newport Bridge) were technically turnpikes.

This seems to confuse the issue even more in terms of RIDOT.... Maybe we need an organizational chart?

Alviti is on the board of RITBA.

And yes, I read it. This was in the story you linked:
“ The Rhode Island Bridge and Turnpike Authority operates and maintains the Sakonnet River Bridge.”

Note the story got the name of the org. wrong.

The transfer of jurisdiction over a section of 138, from RIDOT to RITBA, was due to the (aborted) plan for tolls over the Sakonnet River Bridge.

Besides Jamestown, what section of 138 was ever transferred to the RITBA?

He is also on the board of RIPTA, and as of several weeks ago, serves as its Chairman.
