My winter month natural gas bill is close to $300/month. Forced hot water boiler, gas dryer, gas range. We're not shy about the heat and the cat likes the natural gas fireplace insert. Electric approaches $100/month. With a tiny amount of conservation effort, the electric could be cut in half but that's a battle I'm not willing to fight. With the rate hike, summer A/C will probably be $150 if we ever have a summer where it doesn't rain every day.

Hey that's about what we pay now for both gas & electric. We have antique steam radiators and hot water boiler, gas dryer, gas range and an old house.

They've continued to drop. Last one was $163. I actually haven't even run them the last 3 weeks or so, so this month should possibly be even lower. We'll see how the summer goes, but I wouldn't expect them to use as much electricity as they did in the winter. Everything is electric in the house (washer, dryer, hot water heater, stove, oven, etc.), so I don't think it'll ever get to be sub-$100, but since I'm not running heat or AC right now, I kind of want to see how low we can go.
