Right now I'm very happy with the level-headed, intelligent QB that we're developing in Josh Freeman. I think the rest of the NFL will come to appreciate him soon, as well. This guy is showing heart, as well, something I wasn't sure he had last season.
They played well but finished just short. Atlanta is a very good team. The Bucs are on their way to being one as well. Biggest weakness I see is a total and complete lack of any pass rush.
that's what the critics here in Tampa are saying ----and we drafted McCoy with our 3rd pick.....our MLB stinks - Ruud - really not getting around that.
Ruud's tackles are always 5-10 yds behind the line of scrimmage. He can't stop the run. He's always been this way - I hear ex-players always critical of his play. As far as a pass rush, even if the MLB doesn't rush the passer, he's got assignments in the middle of the field - and if he fails, the pass rush fails.
Nice win by the Bucs. Of course, Clausen only started his 4th game as a Panther. He looks like he'll be pretty good down the road. Bucs benefitted from his inexperience.
