Isn't cancer a catch-all for skin-cancer, breast-cancer, and all the other places where stuff can go wrong? I think cancer could only be cured if there isn't a living body in the first place. Suffice it to say, I'm not listening to any politician who says anything about a "cure for cancer".
(hmm... perhaps I could have stopped the last sentence at "politician who says anything")

Yes, in addition to driving 18-wheelers, fighting beside Joan of Arc, and being eaten by cannibals, Calamity Joe cures cancer in his spare time.

Point being, a cure for cancer, should it happen, will have NOTHING to do with Biden and likely nothing to do with the government.

Do better.
For crying out loud, in the first post here I wrote that it was an opinion piece. I'm sure we all know what an opinion piece is.

But why is it so hard to believe? McConnell introduced a bill for a debt ceiling fix in 2015, then filibustered it hours later when Democrats supported it. When Obama was president, McConnell also promised to block any and everything the president wanted to put through, regardless of what it was, just to be petty. With that as background, it's pretty easy to believe this opinion piece.

It's a USA Today opinion piece by a doctor who's mad the seven-year money spigot ran dry. That's all that is.

So Biden wanted to fund research to cure America from his presidency?

You mean like billions for other Countries or amnesty for illegals? What could go wrong with that?

Here is another article on this issue.

Beating Cancer used to be bipartisan. What happened.
This should be a top priority. Letting people suffer and die needlessly when we should be doing everything possible to
advance a cure. Don't put money or politics above needless suffering and death.

I thought Student Loan Debt was the top priority. oh wait wasn't it Abortion Rights? No, I think it was "Migrant" rights. But perhaps that's wrong, it is Universal Health Care as the Top Priority. Or wasn't it Climate Change? Whoops, I am sure it is Ukraine and Gaza.

One word, LAETRILE/from peach pits, touted by government for the cure for cancer, took off in the late 70s and all the money spent chasing that lead was diverted form mainstream cancer research.

The government has a tendency to put all its eggs in one basket, as they did with baby food, EVs and obamacare, covid vaccine.

Dems always use titles to sell they often disguised legislation intended for covert use. Example, the deficit reduction act, disguised as a green energy windfall.

Biden has killed more people during his administration than cancer has! Biden is cancer!

The $24.5 billion of global investment in cancer research, is funded by 66,388 public and philanthropic organisations and awards.

It also should be noted that Moonshot was not particularly effective, as pointed out in my previous post on this thread (#12).

Billions spent on cancer research but only small percentage goes on treatment, study shows - University of Southampton (2023)
