This was on the news today.
For those who have a rooster to thank, or not thank, for waking them up in the morning, the city is once again moving to take on the problem.

It’s been two years since the the city last paid someone to trap wild chickens. Since then, the problem has gotten worse.

We shoot the wild chickens in our neighborhood so you need to keep them in your yard.

Sadly the backwards out dated law on Oahu allows each and every home... no matter how close to others... TWO chickens. Two hens or two roosters or one of each. Oahu is no longer a rural place but bedroom communities where people need to get up and go to work. But selfishly those who say its 'culturual' don't care about others. AINOKEA right? What they, those who raise them are really about is using them for fighting.

Why not go down to 'Whole Earth' and buy all the orgainic eggs you want?

Idc how long ago this comment was.. this was wildly alarming to read. If you can shoot an animal that is no physical threat, there is something wrong with you. Bonus psycho points for shamelessly posting about it on a public forum. I was able to drown out rooster noise after being here a few months, and they were right under my bedroom window. Hawaii has a specific pest control service to capture feral chickens, and you chose to shoot them? Hope nobody asks you to watch a child that might scream
