I agree if your definition of the Finger Lakes excludes Monroe County and urbanized Syracuse.

Technically both aren’t in the immediate region. So, that could be why both weren’t included.

All three of their choices are very good, Canandaigua, Skaneateles and Victor, though Ithaca or a town/SD like Lansing in that area could be some other places right up there as well. That is including school districts.

The Finger Lakes Region, as described by the state includes Orleans, Genessee, and Wyoming counties, as well as Monroe.

I'm not sure, but I think Silver Lake is a Finger Lake, although never refered that way.

Yes, there are varying definitions, as some include Steuben, Chemung and other counties within range of a Finger Lake.

I think these guys were looking more at places in the immediate area. Even then, there are other places that could have been considered based on their criteria.

Good call, as both Victor and Canandaigua are in Ontario County, one of the fastest growing counties.

When I was younger, contemplating going to Victor seemed like a day trip. Today, it's just another suburb.
