That's me done, but I was never an intellectual, only a dum dum who latched onto classical music to look like an intellectual.

However, in searching for an excuse to inflict it on bluegrass and hip - hop lovers on my Other Religion forum, I came across this...
One of my favourite bits of the 1610 vespers, this catches exactly the ringing of bells, dance rhythms and how Monteverdi used the popular music (opera; madrigals, dance) to make a religious work.

I like the way one can hear the sackbuts play the cantus firmus.

Default a sucker for completions.

Hang on..Beethoven write a piano concerto no 6? Well...he started one but didn't continue. It has its' flaws but in many ways would have built up to a heck of a concerto, with glimpses of the 9th symphony.

Not to be confused with the piano conbcerto no 6 arranged from the violin concerto and best left that way.

He wrote an oboe concerto, too

Two movements more or less done; suitably pastoral.

This was fun and none the worse for being played by a modern orchestra
