You need to quote the post you're referring to, if that's what you are doing. It doesn't make much sense.

Some "Queens of the cover song" so to speak.

Since you didn't follow your own advice....I'm not sure who this message is intended for.

Jeff picked a good song to cover but he can't touch Howlin' Wolf.

Yeah, you do. If you got something to say, then just say it and quit beating around the bush. If you think something sucks then fine, just say so. This is a thread to share covers of songs, not the grammys.

The Deftones never get enough credit for being as great a band as they are. They've done a whole ton of covers, so here are a few:

"Drive" by the Cars

"No Ordinary Love" by Sade

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MuNZGijfaZA

"Savory" by Jawbox

"Simple Man" by Lynyrd Skynyrd

"The Chauffeur" by Duran Duran

Also,

"Elbow" did a cover of "Independent Woman" by Destiny's Child. The great thing is that it's a Northern English pub-style version of it... sung by men:

Blur covered "Maggie May" by Rod Stewart, and did a pretty damned good job of it. I had this on a promo CD I found in a used bin in the late 90's; Blur recorded hundreds of B-sides, so each of their singles shipped with an extra six or so songs.

Blur also did "Substitute" by The Who:

Franz Ferdinand did a cover of "Womanizer" by Britney Spears. It's amazing how when even the most trite pop song is performed by a group of real musicians, it can instantly and miraculously turn "good."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zceWcWDaahg - Although in jazz a song becomes "a standard" so many of even the greatest jazz songs are "covers."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFkc2gbShTY - Also kind of a "standard" even though this isn't jazz.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSlv_n-gBmk - More like a regular "cover" although I didn't know the original until recently.

Yeah, you do? What?

First you make a post telling someone to quote and you don't do it. Now you say I'm beating around the bush? I'm also aware of what the thread is as evidenced by my multiple contributions. And Grammys...ugh

Feel free to block me if my contributions offend you so.
