I'd live in Madison if WI weren't such a backwards state, but I currently own a house in both Hudson and Minneapolis and am planning to sell both of my homes in a couple years to move to Georgia. The leadership in this state is beyond toxic. Good thing I'll still be a resident in 2022 to help vote Russian Ron out.
Raving about Madison while calling Wisconsin backwards lol.

More like Madison is a city in Wisconsin surrounded by thousands of square miles of reality.

Well that non reality city is almost single handedly responsible for all the economic growth and most of the economic production of the state. Even when you remove the impacts of state government and flagship university spending, its economic and job growth is impressive and far surpasses everything outside of Milwaukee. The entire state is economically dependent on the economic productivity of its two main urban centers (most of the rest of the state are economic sinks), and that's been true for decades. It's also the only two places attracting an highly educated modern workforce in any numbers.

About 6 years. Live in Central VA now (retired) so a long drive or 3 leg flight. May just opt to see them play @Rutgers this Fall. Still have family within minutes of the RU stadium and my brother graduated RU.

Right, all that farmland is worthless and produces nothing of value.

That might be a pretty good prediction. Milk is a money loser. Many are bankrupt/closing up. Corn subsidized for alcohol we dont need.

I haven't been to Madison in years, but I was in Superior earlier this week. It's much more of a dump than Madison (though somewhat less dumpy than when I lived there in the early '90s) but its crime ranking is almost the same as Madison.

And I wasn't quaking in terror as my wife and I strolled Tower Avenue one evening.

Wow, and to think that Drewjdeg was one of hundreds of thousands of people in the Madison area to survive all of that! Impressive.
