Aside from fast food, I guess, although I enjoy good burgers.

I am thinking Mexican (or at least Tex Mes) has to be high on the list, even if this is a less Hispanic city than many in Texas. Steak houses?

case44 has already made a case for barbecue now being strong in Lubbock, on that other thread I started.

This is a slightly different question from best restaurants.

Incidentally, "Tex Mes" was a typo and not some sort of dig!

Maybe it sounds to hoity-toity to ask about "cuisine," but I think it's clear enough what I was asking.

Well, look at the listing and you will get an idea:

Apparently, Lubbock have created a vibrant dining scene that ranges from hearty and meaty Texas barbecue joints to fine dining that rivals any big city in North America with dozens of fantastic restaurants to try.

BTW: messy Tex-Mex dishes are the best!!!

Thanks. I was just looking for the opinions of people who have lived here a while, or spent a lot of time here.

For Albuquerque, for example, I would probably answer this same question with: New Mexican food and, oddly enough, Vietnamese food, because there are so many good Vietnamese restaurants to pick from. That doesn't mean there aren't other good restaurant options, but those are the real standouts, going by overall cuisines.
