I was thinking about the Victorian-style decor from the 1970's that was popular. For example in Mork and Mindy's apartment on TV or the classic Wendy's look, where they had the newsprint from 1900s newspapers on the tables and the greenhouse area. Did it have a name? I wish it would make a comeback. I found it to be a warm, cozy look.
Ethan Allen had a line called Royal Charter, is that similar to what you're talking about? Or perhaps the Colonial Revival style that my parents and everyone else I knew had? https://www.pinterest.com/connievald...ak-collection/
Old fashioned phones and even some fashion. Yes in addition to the psychedelic nightmare and tacky colors lol. I wonder what inspired it and if it has an overall name. I was alive in this era but a slobbering toddler lol.
Haha, I don't mean orange paint and olive green refrigerators lol. I mean the wooden timber look and Tiffany lamps and that sort of thing.
Do you mean the crate-look furniture from This End Up and the like???
Tiffany lamps were not of the 70s but started before 1900 and had their heyday in the 30s and 40s.
Pictures of what you are referring to might help nail down a description!

I posted a link in the very post above yours to a Tiffany-style lamp on Amazon that was indicative of the (revival) style of the era!
Yes I am quite aware that the Victorian Era and Edwardian era took place in the 19th century and 1900-1920. I am referring to the 1970s revival, wondering if it had a specific name and what might have sparked it.

Wendy's restaurant design was based on the concept of the American Gay Nineties. However, the style of the Gay Nineties was envisioned starting in the 1920's, as Americans in the Roaring Twenties looked back at the simpler time of pre-war America. Not Victorian, rather Olde-Timey Americana. For comparison, consider that the TV show Happy Days was a look back at the 1950's from a 1970's perspective.
The apartment set in Mork and Mindy - the outside shots were of an American house built in the Victorian era, but there were several different styles built during the era. The set's architecture wasn't Victorian, it seemed updated, with notes from Arts and Crafts and American Colonial. The furnishings had more of a young adult of the 1980's in their first apartment vibe, hand-me-downs or second hand store purchases: a burnt orange sofa, mismatched swivel-rocker chairs, bar stools from the 60's or 70's.
