I found some inexpensive lace online for the sleeves that I thought would work but it turned out that it irritates me under the arms so bad I am unable to wear it.
I've been pondering what method would cover it up without it being visible. I tried washing the lace with softener but that didn't help.
I have some lace hem tape that might work as seam binding but it's pretty sheer and the sleeve lace is quite stiff.
Yesterday I wondered if I could turn the garment inside out and coat just the underarm seam with a layer of of Aleene's Fabric Fusion washable glue. I'm going to try a test on a scrap of fabric today.
Has anyone reading here had experience with this and perhaps a better idea?

What a cute top. It seems unlikely that you could create that top for less than the $17 asking price, so maybe buy that one? On the other hand, I don't understand why clothing manufacturers make shirts that you either can't wear a bra with, or your bra straps will be obvious. Hm.
It is a cute top. I wanted beige lace and thought it would be fun to do my own. But ripping? I only did that when I couldn't afford to waste anything. Probably not going to happen. There is something about getting done and realizing you need to make sizeable changes that just takes all the fun out of it for me.
The bra straps aren't a problem as I've worn strapless for years now. Got tired of hitching them up, checking to make sure they didn't show, etc.
I do have a "I don't understand" issue, though.
Since it's not worth starting a whole thread for I'll leave it here. I don't understand why so much fabric has horizontal stripes. Are there really that many women who want to wear them?

No, I know better, and never buy horizontal stripes unless it's a two-tone thing I can use the stripes for sleeves or edging.
