Holy cow! Niche named Yale the No. 1 college in the country. We all knew it was the best in the state and truly great but No. 1 is a huge honor. Jay

Depending on the list, it’s pretty consistently in the top 5. Maybe the most impressive campus? I’ve been to all the Ivy campuses. Princeton is beautiful but I’m not sure anything in the US matches Yale’s architecture.

When isn't Yale #1 or in the top 3 or 5?
Yes, the gothic architecture is great.

The older Colonial Georgian buildings are lookers too, and the Beaux Arts Woolsey Hall and Schwartzman Center. Even the modern stuff is generally gorgeous.

How is this surprising or exciting? Hardly a Rudyesque underdog story here, am I right?

Yes they’re lookers and nice to visit but I wouldn’t want own or live in one.
There’s a lot to take in and absorb around there. No disputing that, that’s for sure.

I'm surprised you are so excited by this. Splitting hares between those Top 5. Yale has been #1 in US News rankings before.

In Spring 1975 a close friend of mine was accepted by all the "Ivies," with Cornell being his "safety." He chose Yale.

OK, when are they going to tell us something we don't know? I guess it's a pretty tight race between Harvard and Yale, so if someone rated Yale first, that's noteworthy. Harvard is better known internationally.

It's a tight race between Yale, Harvard, MIT and Stanford and you'll find all of them at #1 on one list or another each year. This is hardly surprising. (If a ranking is only looking at the undergraduate education, you'll see Princeton in the mix as well.) All are well known internationally.
