Exactly, you can literally see Black Rock from the station - Fairfield- Black Rock is perfect.

When RR station names are causing confusion, we as a society need to take a step back and reassess our situations.

I suspect the developer who proposed it is a train wreck financially. A short while ago, the city watching his inaction on getting it done proposed tearing the structures down as a danger 3 years after this column. Now they will give him a little more time.

Aldi, the discount grocer, has set its sights on north Main Street in Bridgeport for its next store. Commerce Park has been a professional office complex for decades and is known for its many doctors and medical offices. It’s near the Trumbull town line.

The plan is to tear down the southern office building and a former bank branch and replace them with a new supermarket. To do this, Aldi needs several variances including building height and parking to build the store. They also face some internal opposition from other Commerce Park occupants who are concerned about safety and traffic. Will see who prevails.

Why does Aldi open stores so close to competitors? Guess it works out for them.

Oldest retail real estate strategy in the book. Grouping competitors together is intentional. When you think of fast food, or big box shopping, or cheap groceries... you're going to a certain area known for those things, not an isolated location.

Are the piles of dirt at Steelpointe there because they’re finally breaking ground with the apartments?

Yes. They got the final federal and state permits for remediation last month, so hopefully it'll go quick from here.
