LOL yes it would be awsome to see a supertall in Connecticut. I think in farther into the future I highly dont doubt it, when the economy starts picking up I think either Stamford or New Haven get something like this, maybe Hartford, too. New Haven have plenty of parking lots to filled in, same with Hartford which is worse when it comes to parking lots.

A supertall building would defintiely look out of place in any of Connecticut's major cities. City Place in Hartford is the state's tallest building at 38 floors (540 feet). I really do not think we need buildings taller than that here. JMHO, Jay

Yes, it would be a bit awkward for a supertall. A few skyscrapers in New Haven couldn't hurt though. The more businesses the better.

Good list. It's the only area of the state that is growing. Not sure why Malloy is putting dollars into other areas. He should take a page from other states, and place his bets on the obvious winner. The spillover will eventually help all the other areas of CT, which are for the most part within an hour commute.

Absolutely. It's central from a commute standpoint for much of the state with good train transit and the new bridge project alleviating traffic. I can see it being the other vibrant jobs central along with Stamford. It's beyond me why Malloy still wants to invest in suburban corporate centers instead of a city with so much potential like New Haven. I live in Milford and work in lower FFC, but would much rather work in New Haven. Unfortunately there's not much there for my industry yet (marketing/advertising) and it's highly focused in southern FFC still. It would be a more interesting urban environment to work in, without having to do the horrendous and stressful commute into NYC. There is a lot of talent in the area and rent and costs are much lower than NYC, so a bigger advertising/marketing company moving into New Haven would make a lot of sense.

I think no more than 800-900 feet is fine, but I'm all for one supertall... But have to admit though, the skyscraper do drawn people to the city.

The travelers tower, if I am not mistaken used to be the 17th tallest building in the world in 1919 and the second tallest in the state, but these 500 feet towers are getting boring... can we at least jump to 600/700 feet with a huge dome and aantenna that could maybe hit 800/900 feet.

Maybe CityPlace needs a make-over... add a few floors with a new dome with a antenna...that be cheaper. LOL

Not a chance in hell. Norwalk, Bridgeport, or even Danbury would have a better chance. Malloy isn't going to pump much investment capital into New Haven. If Pedro "plays nice", you can expect Hartford to receive the lion's share of the $$$$ to attract corps/jobs.

Norwalk is already pretty strong and I lump that into the Stamford market. Bridgeport only has location as a commuting city going for it. It doesn't have the potential of New Haven. Danbury is dead IMO. I know someone who does commercial real estate there and there's no big drive for companies to move there. They have a real problem with vacant office space, even moreso than other CT cities. Even if there was a drive, there's not that much land that the town zoning will allow to be developed anymore.

Hartford definitely gets favoritism from the state gov.
