Bummer. The championship game would potentially have the most eyeballs... after the first game.

Any venue being used in the World Games has to be prepped and ready for the World Games ahead of opening games. FOX knew this during negotiations that this was a possibility. Yet, instead of finding a another city to play the games at, they still invested in Birmingham for the first season of the league. I mean the city is still getting 10 weeks of air time.

Agree with this.

And, personally, I think the USFL is going to do much more for the city than the World Games in terms of exposure / recognition. Assuming it lasts of course.

Aren't they supposed to start play in like 2 months?

And.. From what I've seen.. They have NO players yet?

This.. Has the smell of XFL 1.0.

XFL 2.0 learned from that mistake and got the players together WELL ahead of time so that the product on the field was passable. I mean, it wasn't NFL quality, which it never would be, but it was acceptable.

XFL 1.0 was a CF. And.. This seems to be going that route. The smart move is that they're doing the season in a bubble in a good area. I can't think of a better place in the country than Birmingham where they'll get support. But.. I think even Alabama football fans have their limits on poor quality of play.

A month of practice, more or less?

PLENTY of time to learn a game plan..

This will be the problem. The only good news is that they have Fox money to back the league, but.. If you put out a crap product to start.. Some people just won't come back to give you a second look.

Yeah, especially in light of the poor ratings the Olympics are getting right now. Football is definitely a more popular sport all around.
