Really?! Hes a Champion for starters but... Kasey Kahne ?

Well.. Not on the list of greatest drivers. the only one who'd qualify there might be Kirk Shelmerdine. But, he'd just make the list by default.

I can say that having a greatest crew chiefs list could be interesting. There's FAR more of them than drivers.

I just think it's a bit early in his career. Obviously, yes, I would rank Larson above Kahne.. But, I don't think Kahne would have made my list, either.

If Larson's career ended tomorrow.. Has he done enough to be one of the 75 greatest? I just don't think so. Do I think by the time his career ends he will have done enough? Yes.

He's borderline to me.

Honestly, I think Bobby Labonte is JUST over the borderline. 1 championship.. 3 wins at 'the big' events.. Southern 500, Coke 600 and Brickyard 400 (When it meant something)

But, also being the first to be a Busch Champion and a Cup Champion. And for quite a while, the only one to do it the 'right' way.. Coming up through Busch. Harvick, Edwards and Busch all did it, but they were cup regulars when they won the Busch championship.

Chase and Bobby, as I recall, are the only two to win both via "Natural Progession"

Just based on his technical expertise and technical contributions to the sport, I think that Geoff Bodine should make the list, without a doubt. What many people don't realize, is that Geoff was a very successful driver on the NASCAR modified circuit for a long time, before moving up to the "Cup" series. And without Geoff's initial involvement, and Harry Hyde's, too, Hendrick Motorsports might not have come together.

Better than Kahne.. Not as good as Larson.

Again.. Maybe part of the issue here is getting another 25 that didn't make it the first time. I mean, some.. They probably stretched a bit in '98 putting Dale Jarrett in at that time.

Biff.. He does have 2 championships going for him. Trucks and Busch. Probably would have had a better career if he had left Roush when it started tanking. left with or just before Kenseth and Edwards.

Son of a *****.. Wendell Scott wasn't part of the 50 greatest.. Obviously, he should make it. I mean, yeah, he only won 1 race, but.. He did enough to get in, IMO.

I agree that some of the picks are head scratchers...

Who else would you have nominated?

I'm not sure I would have done better. but.. Couldn't have done any worse

I gave my picks earlier.. I could only come up with about 15 extras. But I gave a good 15.

Someone I'll put up there.. Just because. Are they truly deserving? I doubt it.. But.. Dave Marcis. sheer length of his career. JD McDuffie.. Again.. Just showing up. Week after week.

Ernie Irvan and Ken Schrader.. Both should make it based on what they're letting in now. Schrader probably has a much better case with all the other racing he does.

Dick Trickle should probably make it based off his short track career in Wisconsin.

Buckshot Jones.. lol.. Sorry.. No.. I just couldn't resist.

Ernie Irvan made the first 50. Yeah, I was surprised too.

How about Carl Edwards.
