The Actor's Workshop

In 1989, Edward Claudio and Michelle Barnett founded the Actor's Workshop of Sacramento, California. They wanted to create a place for actors of all levels to get extra lessons and experience. They teach courses in directing, acting theory, play analysis, speech for the theater, great plays of Western Theater, theater history, scene work, technique, and private classes. In 1992, the workshop added in teen and children's courses for those who may wish to act at a young age.

Children and teens that begin at the Actor's Workshop have gone on to enter Julliard Cal Arts and Mike Nichol's New Actor's Workshop. They have also worked at Regional Theaters before making a name. During the workshops actors and actresses have put on productions such as Midsummer Night's Dream, Hamlet, Three Sisters, Death of a Salesman, and Of Mice and Men.

Costs for the classes will range depending on age and course. Some of the per course pricing is $350. Box office pricing to see these learning actors in action are $15 and up. Current shows include Parallel Lives and Threepenny Theatre. These productions change with the classes, as well as the years. Sometimes they also offer tickets at the door only, rather than beforehand.
