Studio Theatre

Studio Theatre of Sacramento, California is located at 1028 R. Street. This theater was built in 1994, opening a few months after construction began. Producer Jackie Schultz is in charge of the theater. She wanted to make a contribution to R Street and the theater world by building an important theater. It is considered part of the "thriving arts block".

Near the theater are several restaurants and lounges such as Ella Dining Room and Bar, Capitol Garage, Dream Ultra Lounge and Sushi Bar, and Zocalo Restaurant. They have offered the Shakespeare Abridged Show, comedy, drama, and several classical plays on stage. Each year the theater has a different production in order to keep residential interest in the performances.

Student IDs allow entry for $10. It is a few dollars more for general admission. All seating is roughly the same. As a minor theater, they do have some very good actors and actresses on stage. They also have trained lighting professionals to ensure the stage is lit properly. Shows are held Friday through Sunday, with a few matinees. As a smaller theater is it rarely packed, but they do have enough interest to continue giving performances year after year.
