This is good news but could be better. Absolutely no need from dumping fluoride into water supply. It's a toxic waste byproduct that does way more harm than good. Take it out completely.

I see you don't live in Richmond, Vermont.

If you do move there you will be free to try to convince your fellow townspeople to change their fluoridation policy. Meanwhile, I assume you can recognize that even if you, personally, do not approve of fluoridating public water supplies, there are real problems with someone whose job requires him to do so just unilaterally deciding not to.

He actually did put fluoride in the water. It was just half of the recommended amount. I have some inside information that other towns put even less in. All you have to do is spend $15 and get the water tested for fluoride.

I see the junk science rant was deleted. Concentrations above 4.0 parts per million are considered hazardous. Fluoridated water is usually around 1/10th that concentration.

I still think the best solution is to make fluoride pills available in schools. Junk science parents can opt out.

Toothpaste now has floride. I don't know why it still is being added to water.

As toothpaste now contains plenty of fluoride, adding it to public water supplies is now an unnecessary government expense. I am on well water in neighboring New Hampshire and using toothpaste I have no issue with cavities.

Hmmm, this thread needs to be updated since new information has come to light very recently about the proven dangers of fluoridated water. Fluoridation should be eliminated entirely or at least reduced to non-potentially harmful amounts. My daughter and family are on a well, which has its own issues with all the corrosive limestone, but there’s no fluoride at least.

Fluoride at the level used in water is safe. What "proven dangers" do you believe exist?

I can see this thread quickly going politics and controversies. The subject of the thread was Richmond, and the regulation of the water there - NOT a general debate on fluoride.
