I need some descriptions of New Chapel Hill. There is a possibility of us moving there and we have never been there. We are retired and will be looking for an economically priced home. Thanks for any help. JJ

The city called "New Chapel Hill" coincides with the Chapel Hill School District near Tyler. So I presume this is the one the OP is asking about.

My impression is that the one near Tyler is a not so much a "town" as an area that includes the growing areas on the outskirts of Tyler...this area is not my expertise - however - so someone from Tyler can certainly chime in with more info.

(There is also a "Chappell Hill, Texas" located near Brenham, Texas.)

It may be New Chapel Hill officially - the unincorpoated area whose ISD actually is partially in Tyler. We just call it Chapel Hill. There's no industry, little retail, it's just Tyler outskirts really, so I bet this is not the area you are referring in too. If it is, then it's just Tyler. Anymore information needed?

We will be moving to Texas to be near family. Any thoughts on Flint ? Or any areas not more then 20 min.s from Whitehouse?? Love being by water but, not a must. Looking for nice area outside Tyler, we love city & living on outskirts to also be near country! .

ANY help would be greatly appreciated!

Most, maybe all, of the suburbs around Tyler are pleasant. It's a nice area.

Flint is a lot faster growing than the Chapel Hill side of Tyler. To my knowledge, Flint and Gresham (to it's north) are not incorporated either, just like Chapel Hill. Home values in the ”Flint” area are probably averaging double what Chapel is (just my guess). Part of the Flint Gresham area goes to the Tyler ISD, and maybe some to the south is a part of the Bullard ISD.
