We recently traveled to Spokane from Northern CA for a quick trip. To all of you in Spokane: What a great city, full of incredibly nice people. Riverfront Park is the nicest urban park I've ever been to and was a great place to walk, run, etc.

Downtown was very nice, the River Park mall is a great little shopping center, High Nooner was an awesome sandwich spot for lunch, and the Centenniel Trail system is a well planned out, clean, scenic route that can take you by foot or bike over to Gonzaga.

Brew pubs - you're covered here, lots to choose from and great PNW beers.

Umi Kitchen and Sushi Bar was amazing

Many times these forums are full of complainers and those venting their negative opinions which don't reflect the majority. Before travelling to Spokane I read quite a few negative reviews in general which were polar opposite to our experience there.

Just a shout out to everyone in Spokane. Thank you for your hospitality and hope to visit again at some point!

Thanks for the good feedback. We used to visit frequently, but it's been several years now. Nice to know the city didn't follow Seattle and Portland down the homeless rabbit hole.

Last time they were there (2 or 3 years ago), there were a lot of homeless in Spokane, and the doors were off the bathroom stalls in Manito Park. Glad to hear it's gotten cleaned up!
