Did you guys hear about this? I wonder WHERE in Rancho this station is going to be. It's going to really be crowded w/ a whole bunch of people (who live in neighboring cities) traveling to get to R.C. to get there.

They say it will take 4 years to complete because they want it done in time for the Olympics.

I personally wouldn't ride it in the first year. Let them get all the "bugs" out of it & make sure it rides right first, then I'll see.

Needs to go to LA.

Then split to SD and Santa B.

2 hours to Rho Cuc then 2 more hours to Vegas?

My personal best ETA from SD to Vegas was 3hr 15mins.

It's gotta beat that if it's going to strand me in Vegas....

Holy crap!! 3:15 to Vegas? That's 330 miles -- you would have to average more than 100 mph the entire way, including SD freeways. Or if you average 80 locally, then like 120 in the desert to make up for it. I can't believe you still have your driver's license! Google maps says it's 5 hours with zero traffic. Even then, I think the train isn't worth it. Gotta park, wait, etc

About four miles north of Ontario International Airport, the Rancho Cucamonga station will sit on a five-acre property at the northwest corner of Milliken Avenue and Azusa Court in San Bernardo County. This station will be co-located with California Metrolink trains to and from downtown Los Angeles and other locations in Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside counties.

I've been hearing some version of this for years now. Talk of a Disneyland to Vegas came up many times.

It will be right at the current Metrolink station in RC. A little over an hour from LA Union Station on Metrolink. Will be easy to make the connection as the Brightline is right above the Metrolink.

So far the fast train money has been used for acquiring land that won’t be used, to pay termed-out California politicians for sitting on the Board, for a payout to contractors who were awarded jobs but not used and other such nonsense. Now I’m supposed to believe this pie-in-the-sky idea will become a reality? This is why the public doesn’t trust the government.

Too bad the station wasn't IN Ontario International Airport (or LAX for that matter).

US Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg was in Las Vegas for the ground-breaking ceremony. Apparently, it is a public/private partnership.

Great & I'm not really happy about it.
