The AP put out an interesting piece the other day entitled 'A step back in time': America's Catholic Church sees an immense shift toward the old ways

Here's a link to the article and an excerpt:

The progressive priests who dominated the U.S. church in the years after Vatican II are now in their 70s and 80s. Many are retired. Some are dead. Younger priests, surveys show, are far more conservative.

“They say they’re trying to restore what us old guys ruined,” said the Rev. John Forliti, 87, a retired Twin Cities priest who fought for civil rights and reforms in Catholic school sex education.

Doug Koesel, an outspoken 72-year-old priest at Blessed Trinity Parish in Cleveland, was blunter: “They’re just waiting for us to die.”

As anyone here familiar with my posts knows, I'm unabashedly a member of the 'younger' generation looking to bring back moral rigidity, monarchies, inquisitions, and the like. I just hope my generation does a better job of 'passing on the torch', so to speak, to create some real staying power.

There's a definite perceptible push to the right from certain quarters, if that's what you mean.
What do you mean you want to bring back monarchies and inquisitions?
You want a Monarchy in the United States?
Well don't worry, if orange Voldemort gets his way, you'll have it!

Dear Mods. I did my best to avoid the obvious but this was as good as I could do with an honest response without mentioning the P word. Sometimes it's just impossible to avoid. The article mentions the unmentionable many times. Please feel free to delete my post.

The extremists in the so-called 60's revolution have caused their rejection. When you are willing to deny the very gender you were born with in the name of liberalism and compassion you have gone a bridge too far. Mike, you are a member of the extreme opposite camp triggered by the extremism on the left. Your outrageous desires for moral rigidity, monarchies, inquisitions, and the like are anathema. You and your ilk are dangerous to human society and everything Jesus stood for, IMO. God is NOT about using humans to enforce His ways. What you are forced to do does not remotely reflect what you have BECOME and is more likely to make you less like what God desires. You are seriously misguided, Mike.
