Granted, most of the communities I've lived in have been smaller and without a selection of chain stores with pharmacies, but I've had good luck sourcing less expensive pet meds from compounding pharmacies. Those are often small businesses, not big box stores but they're often more willing to work with their customers.

I believe doxycycline is the generic, so I am wondering why such a jump in price for the dog and if that can be attributed soley to dosage and number of pills. Still seems out of whack.

Any ideas?
yep - it was funny to me when my pup was prescribed Tramadole and we humans were also.
