I actually thought of that and almost wrote it down... but Norman has the sewer plant just south of the University... and the part of Norman I recommended the OP consider.. (around OU) gets graced with that aroma on occasion. So avoided it.

I will say one of the weirdest things about moving to Lubbock for me (as an immediate college grad) was the culture shock of the cattle/cotton/west Texas boot scootin' culture compared to Norman... which seemed more preppy and sophisticated (at least around the University)... Yet many of the Texans kind of looked at me as if I were a backward unsophisticated Okie and they were the uptown types.

That was really a bizarre place to be.
