Few interesting nature observations:
- The loudness of a howler monkey is relative to the size of its testicles. Researchers found that the smaller the testicles, the louder the monkey. (hope I didn't offend anyone )
- ln 2005, a sheep jumped off a cliff in Turkey and 1500 sheep followed one by one. 450 sheep died and the rest survived by landing on the soft big pile of sheep.
- Ant corpses release a chemical when they die. A scientist once recreated this chemical and put it on a live ant. Its ant friends kept bringing it to the graveyard no matter how much it struggled to return.
- The Coastline Paradox which explains that's its impossible to accurately measure the length of a country's coastline and the more precise the measurement the greater the length becomes - to the point of infinity.

neat.

3 crocodiles "could have easily devoured" a stray dog in their river. They pushed it to safety instead.

OMG what a freak accident. So glad that the little guy lived, and no one was hurt -- except the car.

Christmas is over, and these elephants are feasting on leftover trees
Quote:
Christmas is over, but for some the festive treats are stretching into the new year.

Elephants at Tierpark Berlin zoo in Germany are enjoying munching on Christmas leftovers after the delivery Thursday of crunchy, unsold Christmas trees, in what has become an annual event.

The huge mammals can be seen chomping on the lush, green pine trees in a series of images released by the zoo.

“The elephants really like the trees,” zoo spokeswoman Svenja Eisenbarth told The Post by email. “On the one hand, the trees are eaten, and on the other, they are a great and varied toy for the animals.”

This is the most interesting thing I’ve read in a long time.

A stingray in a NC aquarium is pregnant, but has not been in contact with a male stingray. There are two possible explanations, and they won’t know the answer until the offspring are born.
