Did they show their employees proof of this?

Again I know people at state street who were WFH before covid.

The upside is that you both probably have more job security than WFH folks! Those will always be in demand careers, esp nursing due to aging population and the number of docs/nurses retiring.....not enough new ones getting into the field to replace them.

I'm not sure what exact metrics they shared with employees. From what I heard they did disclose that regions outside the U.S. with more people in-office were more productive (by whatever measure they used).

The big question for everyone is:
  • if your employer told you to be onsite X number of days per week, would you find a new job?
Answer to your second question, yes!

It seems like you were directing it personally at me. I've never worked for anyone or spent a single day in an office.

The vast majority of WFH jobs were not WFH prior to covid. For people who have no concerns about covid, I think they probably should be back in the office. In nearly all instances, I would think they'd be far less productive with WFH. And those fighting the return to office come across to me as slackers trying to get away with continuing to be slackers.
Says someone who's never had to experience working in an office for someone else. Try that for a few years and see if your opinion changes! It likely would!

yep it gets old and it's a grind. For many that's life though. If you do get the opportunity to WFH and you are tired of the commute grind who wouldnt take it?

I was talking to a sales associate as I was checking out at a retail store this weekend and they mentioned how they have 2 young kids and pay $2300/month total for daycare. I was kind of scratching my head after....normally I think of retail associates as making close to or not much more than min wage so I was wondering does this person's whole paycheck just go to pay childcare? I wanted to ask, wouldn't it make more financial sense for you to just stay home and watch the kids while wifey works? Then that begs the questions maybe he doesn't like watching the kids and would rather be out of the house even if it means his whole paycheck is basically go to childcare costs? Crazy!

About as much as I believe when people say they are just as productive WFH as in-office. Each side has their incentives...whoever has more power gets their way.
