Lawsuits Claim Disney Colluded to Replace U.S. Workers With Immigrants

https://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/26/u...mmigrants.html

Even after Leo Perrero was laid off a year ago from his technology job at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla. — and spent his final months there training a temporary immigrant from India to do his work — he still hoped to find a new position in the vast entertainment company.
But Mr. Perrero discovered that despite his high performance ratings, he and most of the other 250 tech workers Disney dismissed would not be rehired for at least a year, and probably never.
Did you even read sources in your articles? It contradicts what you're claiming. I suggest you actually read the articles and sources... and even the court fillings rather than going off of headlines and social media. Others have already pointed out that Disney did not rehire these positions. They simply outsourced it.

Although H1B started under the creepy clinton's, it continues and has increased. Under obama's lap dogs (White) replacement theory, our borders are open to the entire world. Recently, it has been reported that only white school teachers are being fired and replaced by non-Whites, so what knowledge will they be able to pass along decent kids when all they know is affirmative action?

The medical community is also suffering the effects of non-White admissions and hiring practices leaving patients without qualified medical staff.

Get in the game and stand up for your kids and America.

The H-1B visa program was launched in 1990, when President George H.W. Bush signed the "Immigration Act of 1990." It is intended to help American firms deal with labor shortages in rapidly growing fields that demand specialized skills, such as research, engineering and computer programming.

Strong accusations, any stats to back them up?

Where have you been lately? Do some research and you will discover that Minneapolis is laying off teachers and stated that they will only lay off white teachers. Medical schools have said they are going to grade on a pass/fail basis.

Back to the topic at hand --- The H1-B visa should never be used to lay off Americans and replace them with visa holders. In fact, it was meant to be a temporary program until enough Americans got trained to take IT jobs. The fees paid by visa applicants were supposed to fund a program to train Americans. It's long past time to abolish the H1-B visa.

Well - if used as intended, it can be advantageous. And having the US IT sector go completely cold-turkey would not be good at all.

But correcting the salary threshold up about 50-75% would be a good first step. That would open the lower-paying ranks to US workers, who could get their bearings and build experience.

(FTR, no - I did not enter the US via H1B.)

We need to import IT skills. We have declining majors in EE/CS (College of Engineering) among Americans.

One of the major reasons is that too many Americans graduated with STEM/IT degrees only to discover they couldn't find work. This, in large part, is due to H1-Bs holding such jobs. Plus many East Indians who started out as H1-Bs and later got green cards are now in positions where they do the hiring. When they hire, they blatantly discriminate against non East Indians.

Keep in mind that many Americans take out loans to go to college (yeah, I know. Biden is all about loan forgiveness). Imagine getting a degree only to discover not being able to find a job.

As I said, the H1-B was meant to be a temporary visa program. The visa fees paid by applicants were supposed to be used to train more Americans. Once more Americans got trained, there would be no need for any H1-Bs.

Meanwhile, we have Americans in those fields who can't find work due to, among many other reasons, also to what was mentioned above. Companies like Tata and Infosys have been allowed to hog the H1-B visas so they can bring in contractors and convince companies to lay off Americans and replace them with cheap contract workers. To add insult to injury, the laid off Americans are forced to train their replacements or they won't get severance pay.

Many IT jobs can be done by those who don't have an IT degree. My husband is retired DBA and he has a liberal arts degree. When he got into IT, he took some classes at the local community college. Once he had a job, his employer would pay for it when he needed to take a work related class.

ETA: Regarding importing IT skills --- most H1-Bs range from mediocre to downright incompetent. My husband, in the past, had to spend time correcting work done by H1-Bs. There is a lot of fraud and corruption in the H1-B visa program. Thus, many get in here using fake resumes.

And you have been hiring senior level IT since when? Or is this based on your husband's experience which which covered what time frame?
