No Amtrak trains anywhere near JC

Don't know if there is a local historical or museum operation to run whenever.

Don't know if JC has a "no horn zone". Most likely they let em blow.

On a branch line freight run trains whenever needed. May be busy enough to always mind the train. Don't be in too much of a hurry.

In the winter sound travels farther. Can be a nice toot from miles away.

You may hear of study to do someday passenger rail from Chattanooga thru Knoxville to Bristol. From Bristol maybe connect to other trains in Virginia.

Trains do come through at all hours. You will hear the horn well into the night downtown.

Unless there is a dramatic political shift, train service from Knoxville to Bristol into Virginia will not be viable.
